Hello everyone! It's time to say goodbye to you👋. This is indeed my final post, unlike the one I published last year. Unfortunately, we will no longer have a course that will require us to use our blog anymore.
This course, I believe, is a highly valuable course that every teacher should take since it educates future instructors, such as ourselves, on how to successfully integrate and use technology in the classroom. Since all students are digital natives, it can be said that the existence of such a course should be a must. One of the greatest benefits of this course is that it enables students to comprehend the knowledge they have gained via the use of technology and to conduct their own learning processes.
The fact that most of the tasks given after the lessons were done in pairs allowed us to exchange more ideas about the lesson. Thus, the course was made easier by a greater comprehension of the assignments. Also, our instructor's comprehensive and detailed explanations of the subjects with numerous examples made it very easy for us to do our homework. However, one of the most challenging aspects of the course is thinking creatively and ensuring that each activity you create has a purpose.
The flipped grammar teaching video was the one that I enjoyed working on the most. While doing this task with Buse, we had a lot of difficulty and effort at first, but after we figured out how to use the Animaker, we had a lot of fun. The fact that we change our tone of voice while recording our voices for tasks, associate the characters in the animation with ourselves and employ a lot of visuals might be some reasons why I liked it. Besides, the digital timeline task we made at the beginning of the semester was my least favorite assignment. Because I nearly never did anything creative or interesting while I was creating the timeline. It wasn't much fun creating a timeline based just on the knowledge I learnt in class.
We could have gotten more efficiency from the history of technology in language learning if we had done a creative and entertaining task that would have made the information we learned more permanent rather than merely writing and listing the data we learned in the lesson.
According to me, students who will take this course next year need to attend all of the courses, listen to the lesson carefully, and pay attention to the teacher's feedback in order to get the full benefit from the lesson.
I reckon that the information I obtained in this course will enable me to get high efficiency from the lessons I teach to my students in the future and it will make my lessons more engaging and entertaining by attracting the students' attention.
Goodbye, everybody. I will miss you.
Take care of yourselves!
