FLIPPED GRAMMAR TEACHING VIDEO

Hello everyone!  This post will be about creating a grammar teaching video for a flipped EFL classroom that our lecturer gave us as a task. For this task, Buse and I worked together. That's why I’m going to talk about my experiences while doing this.

A flipped classroom is an educational approach that tries to improve student engagement and learning by having students complete readings at their homes and concentrate on interactive problem-solving throughout class hours. Students can select when, how, and where they want to examine instructional materials prior to lessons in a flipped classroom; accountability moves from teachers to students, creating a student-centered educational process. As we can see, the flipped classroom has a lot of advantages. For instance: it improves academic performance & learning motivation, and allows teachers to have more time to guide students and give them differentiated feedback. On the other hand, the main disadvantage of a flipped classroom is that it may need extra preparation time.

In the task, our target audience was high school prep students with A1 through A2 levels of English. Therefore, we decided to prepare a video about If Conditional Type 2. In our video, we first made a dialogue about the subject, then briefly talked about the grammatical rules. We wanted to make a colorful, animated video so that the video would attract students' attention. Thus, we used the Animaker. At first, we had a hard time using the application. After spending a certain time in the app, we started to use it comfortably. Finally, we added 2 quizzes at the end of the video to make the knowledge students learn permanent.

Here is our video and here are our quizzes. See you in a new post next week !!

INFOGRAPHICS

Hello everyone! Happy New Year🎉. I hope you are all healthy and well. This post will be about creating an infographic that our lecturer gave us as a task. We were supposed to create an infographic about online higher education in Turkey during the pandemic and provide tips about how to be successful in online education as a university student. For those who don't know, infographics are easy to understand presentations using graphics, images, and a short text about a topic. You can create an infographic on any topic you want. For this task, I used piktochart web app. It's very easy to use the tool also there are many templates and images that you can use. By creating infographics, you can teach language learners some grammar rules or new words in an effective and fun way. Consequently, infographics are a very useful teaching and learning tool as they summarize a topic on one page. Here is my infographic. See you in a new post next week!!

WELCOMING POST

Hello everyone! Welcome to my blog. Actually, I’m doing this blogging for my educational technologies lesson. That’s why my blog will be about the topics we learn in the lesson. There will be posts I write while experiencing what I have learned on my blog. You will see the things I like and the things I dislike about the subject set in these posts. You’ll witness almost every moment of it. This is my first time and I hope we all enjoy this journey💙. Take care of yourselves!

LAST POST

Hello everyone! It's time to say goodbye to you👋. This is indeed my final post, unlike the one I published last year . Unfortunately, we will no longer have a course that will require us to use our blog anymore. This course, I believe, is a highly valuable course that every teacher should take since it educates future instructors, such as ourselves, on how to successfully integrate and use technology in the classroom. Since all students are digital natives, it can be said that the existence of such a course should be a must.  One of the greatest benefits of this course is that it enables students to comprehend the knowledge they have gained via the use of technology and to conduct their own learning processes. The fact that most of the tasks given after the lessons were done in pairs allowed us to exchange more ideas about the lesson. Thus, the course was made easier by a greater comprehension of the assignments. Also, our instructor's comprehensive and detailed expla...
